Walking for Wild Horses

One passionate Norwegian couple, hikers, horseenthusiasts, parents of 5 and eager protectors of the wilderness. One huge, crazy, wonderful project. What? To hike through the American wilderness and create awareness of the wild horses cause and the threats on both the mustangs and the wilderness. To raise money along the way and donate to two chosen sanctuaries that work with conservation of the wild horses. Document the journey through film and writing. When? We start now in the summer of 2019 in California. We will hike through the Sierra Nevada and visit sanctuaries and herd management areas along the way. Next journey we will hike from Mexico to Canada on the Continental Divide Trail through all of the wild horse areas. During the hike we will visit sanctuaries and document the journey through film, blog and photography. In the end of the 5 month hike we will donate the money raised to two chosen sanctuaries we have visited along the way. Third part of the project is to return with our kids to one of the recipient sanctuaries, adopt two wild mustangs and for three months train them and document along the process. Hopefully in the end of the period we will be able to bring them back to our farm in Norway. Why? Right now 50000 horses roam free in different areas of the American wilderness. And 50000 horses are kept in holding pens for the rest of their lives. As free spirits they deserve a better way of life. A better system. We want to dedicate our lives to this cause and we need your help to get there. Who are we? Has hiked Norway from south to north and spent uncountable days and weeks in nature during his life. Anette, age 38, mother of three, horselover, farmer, Yogateacher, naturedveller and eager hiker.
