Hello everyone,

My name is Vanessa and I am fundraising for my mother, Sandra Rodriguez. In April of 2021, my mother started feeling sick and was told she had some internal bleeding. She had several visits between the hospital ER and doctor's offices. She was told she was losing too much blood and would need a transfusion. Before they could do that they wanted to find the cause of bleeding so she was scheduled to see a GI Doctor at the end of June 2021.

This past June my mother was experiencing severe abdominal pain and was admitted to the hospital. After running tests they found a mass in her colon as well as lesions on her liver.

They performed surgery and a biopsy and confirmed that she has stage 4 colon cancer and it has spread to her liver.

Anyone that knows my mom knows how giving she is. How she takes care of everyone else before herself. She’s done so much to care for others and now it’s our turn to care for her.

Due to her declining health, my mother has had to quit her job. Today, July 14th she met with her oncologist to discuss a treatment plan. She received the news that she has a 2/3 year life expectancy with treatment (worse case.) As of now, we are waiting for her to get a CT scan done next week to see if it has spread anywhere else. Next week she begins with Chemotherapy treatment.

I’m reaching out to all of our loved ones, friends and more to ask for your help during this difficult time.

I do not want my mother to be financially burdened on top of everything else she’s going through.

She has the support of her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her parents, immediate family and friends to help her fight this cancer.

We’re asking for donations to go towards her living expenses and medical expenses so it’s one less thing she has to worry about. Anything helps no matter how little or how small. Prayers and love are appreciated.
