Mom's move for cancer treatment
Donation protected
My name is Cheyanne Heady and I am 22 years old. I have a brother, Kenny, who is 25 years old. We lost our father 5 years ago to suicide. We, along with my mother, Lori, had a hard time working through our loss. Him being gone, brought upon heartache and instability. Here we are, 5 years later, and we have been challenged with another obstacle. For the past few months, my mom has not been feeling well. She had been extremely tired and was having frequent dizziness and was coughing. She began going to the doctors for some testing. They looked at basic things at first. She went back and told them they needed to look further because she knew something was wrong. She has lost 20 pounds in a matter of 2 months. She is a whopping 112 pounds. After more doctor visits and further testing, on March 3rd, mom's 55th birthday, they gave her devestating news. Our mother has stage 4 lung cancer. They want to start treatment immediatly, but our mother's dilemma is that she and her boyfriend, Dave, live in South Carolina. My brother and I live in North Carolina. I know, it doesn't seem like a far distance; but when it comes to her falling ill, it feels like she's across the continent. She drove 3 1/2 hours the day after her biopsy to come to my brother and I to tell us. We have made the decision that she would be most comfortable if she and Dave were to move here, to North Carolina, to begin her treatment. That's where the donations will come into play. Dave will have to leave his job and they will have to find a place in NC to live in order to move. Mom isn't able to work right now either. I ask from those reading this to please, even if it's only a few dollars, donate to help my mom come closer to us. Time is of the essence and she can not begin treatment until the move is set into motion. I know it will tremendously help her spirit to be here with Kenny and I. She's going to need our help. I don't usually like to ask for assistance, but in this situation my mom is the only parent we have left and we would like to be by her side during the coming trials and tribulations.
