Help Pete Beat Cancer
Donation protected
If you've been around the MPLS music scene or visited the Renaissance Festival, you've probably seen or met PETE. A true pirate, in a good way, his dreadlocks and smile make him instantly recognizable. Pete can talk your ear off and leave you wanting more. He's brought a lot of joy and creativity to this world.
PETE has recently been diagnosed with prostrate cancer and it's further along than anyone would ever want. I am starting this campaign because PETE deserves to live a long, happy, healthy life and I know we can give him the help he needs to get his life back.
We are raising funds to send him to “Oasis of Hope” cancer hospital. Please consider donating if you can. Your generosity will mean the world.
I asked PETE to write a little about himself and his journey so you can get to know him a little better if you don't already.
Thank U,
Heidi
From PETE:
"I’ve been involved in music as long as I can remember…I took lessons in school, was in the church choir at age 3, school choir every year had my first stage performance at 8 in a school talent show after seeing Michael and the J5 at age 7…I’ve been a Renny for 25 years and started working there 6 years ago…I love people and traveling…my father was a traveling salesman on weekends so I went everywhere east of the Mississippi by age 10…got to continue as a band roadie straight out of high school. Worked in the music biz as a roadie until age 28, found myself in Mpls for ten years at The Ave then moved to Hollywood where I did a stint in film and tv…I’m a 2nd assistant director on a couple films then I returned to the cities when I became a father and returned to First Ave. I love kids (and P music) a that’s why I volunteer for Purple Playground's Academy Of Prince.
I had been having health issue(s) for a while and so I thought getting in really good shape would perpetuate my body healing itself…In the past 14 months I lost just over 100 Pounds through diet modification and rigorous exercise. It was not Enough!!! I have to share that my doctors have diagnosed that my body developed Prostate Cancer and it metastasized to other parts of Me as well. I am currently not in a huge amount of pain, but as most people know…The Big “C” can become aggressive whenever it wants to. I am on some Chemo Therapy for My initial diagnosis and I have upcoming appointments for attacking the beast that wants to take the rest of Me. There are many ways to fight this; In my Spiritual Beliefs, I am doing battle on all fronts of healing. I am a patient at Park Nicollet Hospital in Minnesota, but there is a Hospital out of state called “Oasis of Hope” (.com) that has a program that encompasses healing methods from both schools of thought, being Traditional Medicine and Wholistic practices. This is where I surmise I can find My true battleground to WIN My Fight!!!!! I am doing what I can on my own to get there but I have to keep it real to say everyday feels crucial. Thank You from the Depth of My Soul for any and All Love, Prayers and Help
