Hi, my name is Salena De La Cruz-Forsythe and I’m reaching out for help. As some of you may or may not know, the baby brother, Timateo De La Cruz, of our family took suddenly Ill on March 27, 2022. He woke up with shoulder pain and went to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff and sent home. For five days he went back and forth to the hospital asking for help and they offered little. On Friday, April 1, 2022, he went to a different hospital because at this point he struggled to breathe. Thankfully, they ran a different test and realized how incredibly ill he was. At this time, Timateo could barely string a sentence together from lack of oxygen. It was found that Timateo had a very severe blood infection accompanied by multiple septic embolism and blood cots throughout his body. His lungs have been completely overwhelmed with the infection and has been diagnosed with Necrotizing Pneumonia as well. This is where the pneumonia is eating away at the tissues in his lungs. He was transferred to another hospital where they did all they could and said he needed to be put on ECHMO; which is last level life support to give ur body a chance to heal until he can breathe again on his own. He is currently heavily sedated, on a tracheotomy and ventilator with ECHMO. He currently has a 30% chance of survival. Many of you know our family. Grew up with us, were even adopted by my parents who left no child behind. Timateo was one of the original skaters who came to me to help get a skate park made in Molalla. He has a long road ahead of him and probably won’t be out of the hospital for weeks or months, but if we can help remove some of the burdens for him upon his release I know he’d appreciate that. We have no way of knowing if and when he will make it home, but we are asking for any donations to help him. If you can’t donate we ask for prayers, good vibes, and special thoughts.
