Support Sarah's Healing

As a close friend of 15 years, I’ve witnessed Sarah’s resilience and her commitment to healing. For Sarah, her healing is not just a personal journey, but an expression of her commitment to being in service to the world around her, to social change, and to the personal transformation of others.
She has steadfastly transformed her mind and body and emerged stronger and healthier.

Sarah’s diagnosis of pericarditis as a result of the booster shot is a major setback and has been incredibly disruptive to her life and work. Now Sarah is steadfastly navigating a very confusing and emerging medical landscape to identify the most effective treatments, research caregivers, navigate insurance, and handle the myriad other clerical burdens of dealing with an illness. I’m glad to be able to support Sarah in getting the care she needs and to invite members of her community to do the same – and to cheer her on her healing journey. While uncertainty looms large, I have complete faith that Sarah’s personal capacity to emerge stronger and more resilient from this challenge – and continue to share her gifts, wisdom, and capacity for healing with the world.

As a longtime friend and colleague of Sarah, I have been naturally concerned for Sarah’s condition and have been giving her support over the last few months as an advisor.

Sarah’s experience with chronic illness in years prior made her health a delicate balance of the right foods, supplements, exercise, living environment, and consistent medical guidance. It was a massive surprise to me (as a basically healthy, able-bodied person) when I saw that Sarah’s uninsurable health care expenses already approached $1k/month before January ‘22.

In April 2022 Sarah’s out-of-pocket medical expenses reached $4K per month. This has included a period of weekly IV vitamin treatments ($2500 so far), more regular visits with her chiropractor, acupuncturist, and other providers (another $3000 over the last couple months), new prescriptions and supplements, and quite a few specialist consultations. As these vaccine injuries are a new frontier, there are few providers in the country who focus on these injuries and symptoms, and treatment is more of an experimental journey than a simple prescription. Sarah has seen new providers via telehealth in California, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Dallas and has been receiving treatment in person treatment across New York State.

Sarah and I have talked about treatments such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which other practitioners and injury survivors are saying is highly effective for her new condition. The estimate for a full course of hardshell HBOT therapy in New Orleans is $13,000 not including travel and living expenses. We’ve talked about other treatment routes at lower prices, but we worry that cheaper treatment that doesn’t work means a loss of more time and money over the long term.

My hope is that Sarah will quickly find a breakthrough treatment that will allow her to return to full health - which means being able to exercise and lift full bags of groceries without painful flare-ups of pericarditis. I encourage the community to support her fundraiser - no individual should have to bear the cost of our collective health on their own!

Hello Friends and Community,

I wanted to let you know that I was injured by the Pfizer booster shot on 1/7/2022. It gave me pericarditis, which I am still dealing with more than six months later. I also got Covid at the end of March, making me very ill. I had just about every rare and common covid symptom. I then developed Long Haul Covid, but luckily those symptoms have mostly faded with time. The pericarditis from the booster has been very stubborn to heal thus far, and it has massively altered my life.

As a 34-year-old woman who fought for years to claim good health, it's been devastating to have a heart issue suddenly. I've constantly been running around to doctor's appointments, getting tests, paying out of pocket for holistic care and having to cancel plans. I am not able to exercise normally until the inflammation goes down. This has been devastating as someone who has always relied on vigorous exercise and dance for mental and physical health. I have felt strange in my own body. I have struggled immensely with the toll on my mental and emotional wellbeing.

There is very little understanding of why certain people are injured and what to do about it, especially from conventional doctors. There is no government compensation available to me. Effective treatments available to me are in experimental and functional medicine that are not covered by insurance. I have been rapidly spending down my savings and face going into debt to recover. That's why I ultimately decided to ask my community for support.

I am determined to recover fully, so that I can spend my life doing what I love: dancing, spending time in nature and contributing to healing our living earth through activism, coaching and working with transformation-focused organizations and companies.

Any amount that is good for you to contribute is appreciated. Even $1 will increase traffic on this page and encourage further donations.

Thank you for your love and support!
