Mercury is definitely in retrograde....
My sweet sweet Luna Bean developed severe constipation which turned into a massive bowel obstruction (see photos). She's been in the ICU at the vet hospital since Friday 9/24 receiving continuous fluids, bowel prep through NG tubes, endless enemas, meds and more. Poor thing is still obstructed and has been vomiting due to how backed up she is; I'm just hoping it doesn't come down to surgery. Since Friday I have now maxed 3 credit cards. I could really use some additional help paying a portion of these vet bills as I don't anticipate bringing her home yet.
Backstory:
She has had constipation in the past but for a little over a year now I've had no issues due to a special gastro-intestinal prescription diet that worked. A couple weeks ago I picked up a new bag of food from my vet (can't go in due to Covid) and within a week Luna developed constipation. I called Royal Canin to ask if the formula had recently changed; they asked me to describe the bag, and immediately told me I received the wrong food and that "this happens all the time." There apparently are two identical gastrointestinal bags, but our vet clinic had handed me the wrong one that didn't have "fiber response" listed in a small white box below the name.
See the zoomed in photos of the two bags...if anything comes from this, I hope it's that the company changes the appearance of these two bags, especially if "this happens all the time." This was a medication error which negatively impacted my poor kitty and has left me with >10k of debt.
Did you know?
The fine print of almost all pet insurances states that pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Thank you
Thank you to anyone who is able to help out, I know life is coming down hard for so many people so I really appreciate your help.
Also, a huge shout out to VCA Animal Hospital/Emergency Services for being amazing and taking SUCH great care of my baby.

Luna is such a sweet gentle cat with the most beautiful purr, thick coat, and stunning icy blue eyes. When she's home, we play tag and hide and seek (for real), she leaves tuffs of hair everywhere, and is constantly sleeping on her back next to me on the couch. The house is truly gloomy without her there...
