Hi my name is Lisa. I am fundraising for myself. Last year in March I had to have emergency surgery. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis with an abscess. I am 38 years old….to the doctors this was very uncommon for my age. During the surgery they ended up having to remove a foot and a half of my colon, my appendix, and half of my ovary. I then received a colostomy bag. I was able to have my colostomy reversed thank God. I am fortunate for that. Here we are a year later and I had to have hernia surgery to repair 4 hernias. I was able to return to work after my reattachment surgery but due to covid the restaurant I work at was closed for sometime. I was then able to go back as a cashier when restrictions were lifted. I did try to apply for assistance but I was told I make too much money and I have no children. I have been off of work with zero income for the last 6 weeks. I plan on returning to work as soon as possible but I will have restrictions which limits my hours of work and abilities. I’m asking for help “getting back on my feet” not for a free ride in life. I’ve worked since the age of 14….I’m not one to ask anyone for help so this is hard for me to put myself out there. This truly has been the hardest year of my life. I know the mental hardship will last longer than my scars. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please help if you can.
