As you know, LJ had several ischemic strokes on December 17, 2021. He was paralyzed completely on his right side and unable to speak the first few days. He also was in serious DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis), so newly diagnosed with diabetes. LJ had been having health issues for months and we even went to the ER on November 4, 2021 and they sent him home saying he was only dehydrated. He wasn’t sleeping because he was having such severe leg cramps and he was in overall pain. But the doctor said it was only dehydration, he’s the professional, right? Come to find out he has been diabetic since April but his endocrinologist stated on November 3, 2021 that “all of his blood work was normal.”
Needless to say, LJs blood pressure dropped so low it was unreadable by EMS (his blood sugar was 1226) and it caused him to stroke out… several times.
Thankfully, LJ is now safe and sound at home after a short, HORRIFIC stay at a rehab facility. He has been recovering miraculously. His diabetes is becoming managed (because it takes months) and he is even up and walking with physical therapy. BUT, we are struggling financially. The cost of insulin is expensive, as well as the MANY doctors appointments. We applied for disability back in December but it takes 7 months. While he will still be in recovery in 7 months, our money is running out now.
I’m asking for you help, whatever you could donate, so that LJ can continue to heal without the stress of our finances or the inability to pay for doctors appointments. Please and thank you.
