Hi everyone! I’m Morgan! My name is Erica but i go by my middle name, Morgan! I moved to Rome late 2019 and into a new home early 2020. I lived here for a year and a half before i saw sick and skinny cats. I fed the cats turkey and tuna then decided to go buy cat food the next day. I have been feeding the cats since July 2021. There used to be over 30 cats on my road in particular. Someone bad decided to poison majority of the cats. They were never caught:( but this has since made me want to make sure these kitties were taken care of, fed and seen by a vet! I started independently rescuing and doing tnr (trap, neuter, return) for cats with my neighbor. We are in the process of starting a non profit rescue and hopefully one day we’ll expand to rescuing dogs as well! But for now there are at least 53 cats we have to have spayed/neutered and vaccinated. That alone is pretty expensive even though we’re working with a vet to get it cheap. It still adds up. If you want to donate please do! You’re saving generations of suffering by donating!
When i say “generations of suffering” i mean. A mom cat can reproduce up to 12 kittens in one litter. She only has 8 nipples. The babies can become sexually mature at as little as 4 months of age. A female cat can go into heat after 5 weeks of just having a litter. It is important to spay/neuter so bad things like suffering don’t happen. A lot of moms reject their kittens and they’re left to die alone outside. Please do research and spay/neuter!! You’re saving an innocent life.
I do have a tiktok if you’d like to follow along @rescuingstraycats and a [email redacted]cer
