Hi! My name is Lizet Avila and my family and I are fundraising for our baby boy Leo.

We rescued Leo in June of 2020 from the horrible living conditions he was in in Alabama. We thought it would be great to foster a pup for a couple of weeks until he found his forever home.. little did we know we would fall in love with him instantly. He wagged his little goofy, clumsy self into our hearts.

Ever since adopting him, he’s constantly had medical issues due to the terrible living conditions he was in. He’s been on several medications off and on and constantly has new problems pop up from things that were missed from exams in the past that we’re never addressed from his old doctor.

Recently, his new vet found bacteria in his intestines and was put on medication. As well as something in his stomach that was missed from his old vet months ago. Leo was getting better but two days ago, things took a turn for the worse.

Leo was not himself. He was in bed all day not wanting to walk, play, eat, or drink. For all those who know Leo, he loves to play and is super energetic. He started to vomit every 30 mins to an hour not able to hold down food or water. We rushed him to the vet and he was immediately put on an IV since he was severely dehydrated. He’s been at the vet for two days and will be transported to a 24 hour vet hospital to stay on IV and medication overnight for the next couple days.

The vet is working hard to find out what caused Leo’s health to decline so quickly. With this said, since we don’t know exactly what’s going on and can’t treat the unknown, there are many labs and exploratory tests that need to be conducted.

I am asking for help to continue to have Leo get medical help and figuring out what is wrong with our baby boy. Money will go towards all the vet and animal hospital fees including but not limited to test, stays, and medication.
