Trent's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Kyle and I am looking for a way to help my brother and his family through an incredibly tough time.
On August 13th 2020, my brother, Trent, was riding his motorcycle when he was hit head-on by a sedan, resulting in an accident that left him near death.
He was in the hospital for 8 days getting multiple blood transfusions, scans, surgeries, and in intense, persistent pain.
His pelvis is shattered to the point that doctors have not often seen, both arms, an elbow, and a hand are broken, a long gash on his head, and he has bruising on most of his body.
Trent underwent multiple surgeries during those 8 days. The doctors stitched the gash on his head, placed a rod in his arm, put a plate and screws in his elbow, placed a rod and screws in his ulna, as well as screws in his tailbone. The most significant surgery was on his pelvis and hips. A plate and a 12" screw were placed to bring his hips together, from 6" apart, leaving a C-section like incision across his abdomen. His arms and hands are in casts, needing future surgery to continue work on his hand.
He was able to come home, Friday August 21st, and is stuck to his bed, or couch, as he cannot bear any weight at all. He has in home care, with friends and family helping out as much as possible.
Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation are on hold until more healing happens and he can bear weight. Once he is able to start, they estimate about 6 months with those programs.
This Go Fund Me is for 6 months, or more, of missed work, child support, mortgage, and all of the hospital and everyday bills that come up while he is recovering.
I am so grateful that my brother made it through this. I, along with the rest of our family, are doing everything we can to support him on the road ahead.
We would be so grateful to any and all of you who can offer support as well.
Anything helps and everything is greatly appreciated.
