Hi everyone.  A few days ago my 27-year-old wife Sarah was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  Her symptoms started about 2 weeks ago when she lost all feeling in her left arm, and some in her left leg.  Upon MRI examination, the Neurologist found around 20 spots on the nerves in her brain and another 20 spots on the nerves in her spinal cord.  I am now writing this from our 4th hospital visit over the past 3 days.  At the moment Sarah is in the operating room getting an infusion plug (catheter) put into her chest that will stay there for the next 3 to 6 months.  She will be starting a progressive treatment therapy later today called a Plasmapheresis.  For the next 2 weeks, we will be going to the hospital every other day for a half-day at a time, and slowly tapering off of this treatment over the next several months, before starting the next stage in the treatment process.
My wife Sarah is an extremely strong woman who is full of love, and I could not be prouder of the courage she has displayed.  We have accepted that up to this day, there is no cure for Multiple Sclerosis.   However, through support from family and friends, we are able to stay optimistic and strong about our family's upcoming battle.  This past weekend has felt like one continuous bad dream.  I mean, nobody ever thinks that the unthinkable will come knocking on his or her door.  We're approaching this disease the only way that we know how. By keeping our heads held high, staying positive, and taking it one day at a time.
I never thought that I would have to ask others for money, as I have a lot of pride in being able to provide, and take care of my family.  I just don't see any other way that we will be able to make enough money to pay bills, put food on our table, and pay for the unknown insurance co-payments.  I try to work as much as I can, but hours are limited due to me being a fulltime student.  As of right now, I am looking to graduate in March as a Certified Veterinary Technologist.
Sarah will not be able to work for sometime, and I have also missed work as treatment for my wife comes before all else.  If you decide to help my family and me , know that the money raised will be used to support our family.  We are only looking for enough to pay bills, get food, cover some medical costs, and be able to buy a few Christmas presents for our kids.  We have a little baby boy named Sylas who is 8 months old, and also have a 4-year-old daughter named Scarlett.   Although this weekend has been one of our most challenging moments, we have gained the reinforcement of our love, and the value of family and friends.  It's amazing the support that is overlooked when everything in life is going good.  I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read this.  It means the World to us, and we really appreciate the sometimes hidden beauty of generous people.  Thank you.
