For the past year, our family has been navigating a journey we never expected. Our beloved mother, Dora Molina Flores, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, and since that day, our world has changed. Watching a woman who has always been our source of strength face such a difficult battle has been emotionally heart-wrenching. We have spent countless days in hospital rooms and at appointments, holding onto hope and each other.
To know Dora is to know a woman who lived her life for others. She came to the United States with a dream to "always do more," not just for herself, but to create a path for her entire family. She is a woman of profound faith and a devoted Catholic who believes in the power of prayer and kindness.
Dora is the "giver" in every circle she enters. She is a master chef who expresses her love through her famous Christmas Eve tamales and her homemade carne asada. She is the mother who never missed a soccer game, traveling hours just to cheer for her daughters, Melissa and Kimberly. Even now, battling cancer, her spirit is found in her garden, where she tends to hundreds of plants with the same "green thumb" and nurturing heart she used to raise us. She and our father, Vicente, have a love that "clicked like magic," and together, they have been the heartbeat of our family.
This year has been as financially taxing as it has been emotionally painful. Between medical bills, the cost of specialized care, and the reality of being away from work to be by her side in the hospital, the burden has become heavy. We want to ensure that Dora receives the comfort and care she deserves without the added weight of financial stress on our family.
How You Can Help: We are asking for your support to help cover ongoing medical expenses and family needs during this critical time. If you cannot donate, we ask for your prayers, something my mother values above all else.
Doris has spent her life being a trailblazer and a blessing to everyone she meets. Now, we want to be a blessing to her.
Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your generosity.
With gratitude,
