Hello again friends. I'm creating this with tears in my eyes, as I again am in need of your help to get my vehicle back in commission.
Over the past few weeks I noticed my vehicle start to have some maintenance problems and so I took it in, knowing it was going to be a higher price tag, but also assured that I had a lot of back pay and upcoming work coming in that I shouldn't have to set myself back too much. I also felt reassured knowing the Lyft had a rental program that would provide me with a way to continue working, this however has been the thing that has prevented me from being able to source the needed funds and has been a nightmare of a process to receive any additional help from Lyft.
Ill provide a full breakdown later, but the gist is: the rental is costing me more than it is making me.
I made over $700 last week. And I only pocketed $350 of that due to the rental, and I only on the back half of the week.
I also lost 2 days of work because of issues with Lyft and obtaining the rental.
My vehicle has been in the shop over a week and I am able to leave it there for a short time while I continue to raise my own funds.
Here's the story:
23rd: brought my vehicle in, stressed I needed a figure to know if I had the funds or if I needed to use the rental service through Lyft as the closes approved pickup location was in Petaluma.
24th: recieved a call early in the morning however no estimate had been made and I did not receive one until 3 in the afternoon. Made an appointment to pick up a non EV vehicle as according the Lyft staff, I would only be shown locations where my requested vehicle was offerred.
2 days of lost income.
25th: drove to Petaluma to pick up my rental. The only had EV vehicles, which are $200 more per week than my requested vehicle. The vehicle was not clean and covered in dirt and the inside has residue in the cupholders. I mentioned this and was told I would not be reimbursed for any cleaning I did even when this is how they provided me the vehicle.
Drove it back to Fairifeld to discover that according to lyft, I had never even picked up my rental and I was not able to use the rental I was currently sitting in, I proceeded to spend the next hour and a half on phone calls between lyft and the rental company, trying to figure out what was going on.And kept being told that I hadn't even made the rental appointment to begin with.
26th: I ended up spending most of my morning once again. On phone calls between lyft and the rental company escalating it to a supervisor explaining the situation, they were able to lower the rate in requirements ever.So slightly for me for this week. And assured me, they would return my call as soon as they had information. I never heard back from lyft.I only found out the issue was "resolved" when the rental company called to tell me, I needed to drive back out to pedalluma so that the rental company could remedy their own expired paperwork with their agreement between themselves in lyft.
Another 2 days of income lost.
I spent the rest of the week simply making money in order to pay off the rental and pocketed very little of it.
The next week as I mentioned, I made over $700. And was only able to pocket three hundred and fifty most of those funds needing to go to bills that had already receive the pass and do noticed because I was unaware of the difficulties of using this program that lyft offers.
I've spent more money on charging stations than I ever have on a gas vehicle, in that combined with the amount that i'm paying for the rental is a majority of my income that originally I was under the impression I would be able to use to repair my car without any help.
Unfortunately, this has been a nightmare of a two weeks and I am working so hard and I am exhausted and I don't feel like I have any other options.Other than to once again, reach out for help.
Once I received my vehicle back, I will be able to pocket the full amount of my weekly income and I can absolutely repay anyone back who helps me in this situation, as i've not been able to do so before so please, if there's anything that you're able to do to help me, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.
