Let us help Farida to obtain the scholarship for students from Gaza and move to Glasgow to pursue her Master’s degree:
MEd Adult Learning, Community Development and Youth Work.
Farida is a passionate English teacher who after two years of war, tirelessly continues to educate hundreds of children and helps them keep their dreams alive. Now she has been offered a one-year Master for Education (2025/26) at the University of Glasgow to continue her studies and better serve her community. The course has already started, and she urgently needs support.
A gift agreement of £15,000 has been set up between the organisers of this fundraiser and the University of Glasgow, to ensure that every donation is managed transparently and used entirely for Farida’s visa and living expenses.
Farida says: “I believe in education, resilience, and the limitless power of human potential. My long-term ambition is to establish a centre for education and resilience in Gaza that can serve as a hub for innovation, research, and community development. I want to empower the next generation with the tools to rebuild their future, no matter the challenges they face.”
Liz Holzman, her mentor at We Are Not Numbers says:
“I have had the great honor of being Farida's mentor, friend, and advocate for one year. That is not a long time and though I am now 70 years old, for me there is my life “before Farida” and my life “since Farida." It's hard to explain that, even though I have never had the pleasure of meeting Farida in person, my relationship with her has fundamentally changed me and my perspective of the world.”
