Hi everyone,
My name is Assua, and I’m reaching out for help for my sweet dachshund, Stoney. He’s not just my dog, he’s my best friend, my shadow, and my little ray of sunshine every single day.
A few days ago, Stoney suddenly started showing signs that something was terribly wrong. He became wobbly on his back legs, then quickly lost the ability to stand, walk, or use the bathroom. The vet confirmed what I feared most: Stoney has intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), a condition that can cause paralysis in dachshunds if not treated immediately.
The only way to give him a real chance at walking again — and living a pain-free life — is emergency spinal surgery. The estimate for surgery, hospitalization, and recovery care is around $12,000. As much as I wish I could cover this on my own, the cost is more than I can handle right now.
Stoney has always been such a loving, goofy little soul. From the way he burrows under blankets to how he greets me with that happy tail wag even on tough days. He’s only 5, and he deserves the chance to get back to chasing toys and going on walks again.
I’m doing everything I can to make this happen for him, but I can’t do it alone. Every single dollar helps, and even sharing this page means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, donating, or sharing Stoney’s story. Please keep him in your thoughts as we fight to get him the care he needs.
With love and gratitude,
Assua & Stoney
