Life has been incredibly tough for my husband, our two sweet cats (Binky and Frankie), and me over the past two years. Right now, we’re living in an extended stay hotel, doing everything we can just to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. I work full-time, and my husband uses our only car to do deliveries so we can make ends meet. Together, we manage to cover the basics—nothing more.

Now, our car, which is 18 years old, has become unsafe to drive. Without it, my husband can’t work, and without that income, we don’t know how we’ll survive. The car needs new tires, shocks, an alignment, a fuel pump, a tune-up, and an oil change—possibly more repairs we’re not even aware of yet. We can’t afford to fix it, and buying a new one is out of the question.
