The Bahrs family home in Wilmington, North Carolina was of many homes devastated by Hurricane Florence. Their house was flooded with 4 feet of water and the damage is catastrophic. The last couple days friends and family have helped move their waterlogged belongings outside, which has left their home totally bare and stripped to the bones.
Very precious and irreplaceable items were lost due to water damage including 50+ family photo albums, 2 mattresses with box springs, couches, appliances (washer/dryer/oven/dishwasher), rugs, and every piece of furniture and clothing that they owned. Every wall has to be torn down and rebuilt from four feet below. Flooring and carpet need to be ripped up and replaced, not to mention the devastating emotional impact of losing cherished belongings and seeing your home destroyed. Unfortunately, they do not have flood insurance so the funds for replacing their belongings and repairing their home will come totally out of pocket.
Christina, Skylar, and Shayna Bahrs are handling the damage with grace and positivity, and they are the most selfless and caring people that you will ever meet. The funds raised will go straight to the Bahrs family to help pay for repairing the flood damage to their home and replacing lost items like clothing and furniture. As Skylar’s best friend, I know they need a helping hand from anyone who can offer it more than ever. If there is anything you could donate including services to help the Bahr’s family rebuild their home, it would be greatly appreciated and a blessing in the midst of a tragic loss. Thank you so much for your support!
