In case you don’t know me, my name is Sarah, and asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. As many of you know, I’m a single mom doing my best to provide for my family.

In a few weeks I’ll be having major spine surgery that will fuse and stabilize my spine from T2 through L2. The surgery is necessary, but the recovery will be long and difficult — doctors expect about 2 months before I’m even close to functioning normally again.

During this recovery period, I won’t be able to work, and I honestly don’t know how quickly I’ll be able to return to my job, which is already not super stable. This means I’m suddenly facing a stretch of time with no income at all.

I’m raising funds to help cover basic living expenses, childcare, school related costs, and anything unexpected that comes up as a result of this surgery.

Being a single mom is already challenging — doing it while recovering from spinal surgery feels overwhelming. But I’m choosing hope, and I’m choosing to reach out to my community, even though it’s incredibly humbling.
