I am Rhonda’s husband Rod, for those that don’t know we were middle school sweethearts that reunited and were married 6-23-23. Ever since we have been on a roller coaster ride. I had my own health scare in August which the doctors are monitoring. Rhonda’s Mom, as many of you know was diagnosed with lung cancer in October and battled for 3 short months. Rhonda lost her Mom January 9th and on January 14th was in the hospital with a kidney stone.

That kidney stone was a blessing in disguise, because the CT scan showed us a 14 cm tumor by one of her ovaries. You can imagine our shock and fears. Fast forward after several tests and doctors appointments we discovered the only way to determine if it’s cancer is to remove it and test it. The location of the tumor and after the Doctors recommendations she will be having a complete hysterectomy.

She will be at the best of the best, U of M Ann Arbor for surgery and a postop stay. We should know the diagnosis once she is out of recovery.

I will be staying in Ann Arbor until she is released and then it’s a 6-8 week recovery. She has no health insurance plan and will have co-pays and expenses. My job is seasonal, which will allow me to take care of her while she is recovering but not financially.
