Mark Casey has always been an active man and a true sportsman. From high school all the way through his adulthood he has been active is many sports and has had a true passion for basketball and golf. Those passions and drive he passed along to his children and grandchildren. Mark is an amazing father, grandfather sibling and friend and would drop anything to help you out in a time if need. Today we come to you asking you to help him in his time of need. Just over a year ago mark suffered a debilitating complete stroke. While at home relaxing alone with his beloved buddy (his dog) mark had a stroke. Not being able to move or call for help mark laid alone on his living room floor for almost 48hrs. After not hearing from him for a couple of days a friend stopped by to check on him and discovered something was wrong and broke into his home to find him barely alive. For the next several months mark would remain hospitalized. Mark is now dealing with full right side paralysis and required full assistance to make it through everyday life. When he left the hospital a year ago Kristen (his daughter) and myself Matt (kristens husband) took Mark in and dedicated all our energy to helping him recover and help him to regain as much independence as possible. Mark has come along way but we are at a point where we think he has plateaued and unfortunately he will not be able to function without constant support. With the new normal we have began to accumulate ever mounting medical expenses and medical equipment in order to keep mark on a healthy track. It pains us to ask for it but we are in need of help. Anything that can be given will help mark continue pushing forward. There is special medical equipment that we need that is not covered by insurance that needs to be paid monthly along with many prescriptions. He is also going to be needing a new special lift recliner chair. His current one which was donated to him from his brother is beginning to fail and they are not cheap. If you know mark he does not like to put his personal life out there and definitely does not like asking for help but he needs it and we need it in order to give him the best chance out there to live a long and productive life. We as a family thank you for the consideration and thank you in advance for anything you can give to him. # markstrong is not just a hashtag it’s a fact he is the strongest man I know and we are proud of him.
