The Jesuit Jr. Marauder's (JJM) are committed to safety, they were the first youth football organization in Sacramento to institute concussion baseline testing, the first to formalize USA Football’s “Head’s Up" tackling technique in 2013 and in 2014 the first to implement the “Hawk” Tackling Technique (designed by Pete Carroll, Head Coach Seattle Seahawks). The Hawk technique is a shoulder technique designed to help keep the head out of the tackle. Safety is the most important priority throughout the JJM program.
Keeping with this top priority of safety, the JJM Board has been researching many helmets and we have decided we would like to upgrade all our helmets for this upcoming 2016 season. We believe in the safety of all our players and a helmet upgrade is in alignment with that core value. As a non-profit organization, it is a major capital investment to upgrade our helmets. We are asking for each of you to contribute funds toward this safety upgrade. Please give generously as you can, any amount is appreciated. Feel free to forward this link to anyone you feel may want to contribute (i.e. grandparents, family friends, etc.) For any donation over $40, upon request JJM will give you one current helmet as a memento when the new helmets have arrived and as long as JJM has enough inventory to distribute.
We need to make a decision by March 26, 2016, so please keep this in mind as you are thinking about what you can give.
Thank you all in advance for helping us do what we can for the safety of our sons. Let’s go have a great 2016 season.
