All in one day, Thursday, my Mom, Sandi Byrd, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma cancer. Shortly after she suffered a stroke. Unknowingly, the cancer had already spread to her brain causing multiple brain bleeds. She was life-flighted from a local hospital to one in Las Vegas, two hours away from home.

My mom never regained consciousness and was taken off the ventilator today. She passed away about three hours later. This happened so quickly and my mom is so young. We are devastated. We are heartbroken. We are struggling to understand. We also know that she is no longer suffering. She is not in any more pain. And the most comforting thing of all, is knowing that she is in heaven now with Jesus and we will get to see her again someday.

Unfortunately because of how sudden this was, we did not plan for something like this to happen. My mom has no health or life insurance. Our family would appreciate any donations to help cover her medical expenses. Thank you so much for all the love, prayers, and words of encouragement we have received! My mom touched so many lives, was loved by many, and will be missed so much! She was an amazing wife, mother, Mimi, sister, daughter, and friend. She’ll always be in our hearts.
