Many of you know some of the story already, but for those who do not I will share a bit here. Deon is husband to Kat and father to three beautiful, talented daughters. He was in a serious automobile accident at age 20 and required a liver transplant as a result of the accident. Seven years later, he rejected that liver and received a second transplant. In recent months he began to feel very ill and it was discovered that the liver was failing and then he also suffered kidney failure. He has been doing dialysis and fighting valiantly, but it is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that we need to share with you that Deon is reaching the end stage of his disease process. He is resting at home with the family and hospice care has begun. It was unbearably hard to share this sad news with his daughters.
As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for Kat and the girls. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last several months. Since the required care was only available in San Antonio (two hours away from their home), it has presented hardships on many levels for the family. They rapidly depleted their available financial resources and at this time Kat is unable to work as she cares for him at home and tries to support her girls in this time of grief. They are eternally grateful for the help that they have received so far - meals, rides to practices and games, help with doctor’s appointments, and so much more. They feel your love and support in so many ways. Please continue to be there for them in whatever ways you can.
Right now, they could really use some financial help to make it though this difficult process of caring for him, knowing that the end is near. If you can donate anything at all, it would be most appreciated - all donations will go directly to Kat. If not, please continue to support them through your prayers and well wishes. Let’s show them just how loved they are.
