Support Team 64411B – A Student-Led Robotics Dream

We are Team 64411B, an independent and competitive VEX V5 robotics team, proudly run by just the two of us — Alex (junior) and Ellis (sophomore). Robotics has been a huge part of our lives since middle school, where we competed in VEX IQ and together qualified for the VEX World Championship four times. Those experiences—meeting teams from across the globe, pushing our limits, and being part of a passionate worldwide community—changed our lives forever.

None of that would have been possible without Howard D. McMillan Middle School and our incredible coach, Mr. Adamson. He didn’t just teach us robotics—he taught us perseverance, teamwork, and how to believe in ourselves.

But when we entered high school, neither of our schools offered a robotics program. After a tough year away from robotics, we made a bold decision: we built our own private team from scratch.

With support from Mr. Adamson and our current coach Laura (Alex’s mom), we launched our alumni team. It wasn’t easy—but through long nights, trial and error, and relentless dedication, we succeeded. Last year, despite a rocky start to the 2024–2025 VEX V5 season: High Stakes, we fought our way to qualify for the 2025 VEX V5 World Championship and celebrated major achievements at state competitions.

Why We Need Your Support

Being an independent team is rewarding, but it comes with real challenges. Unlike school-sponsored teams, we don’t have access to school funding, a steady supply of parts, and registration fee support. Every motor, screw, sensor, and competition registration comes directly out of our pockets.

Thanks to last year’s generous GoFundMe supporters, we made incredible progress—but this season is even tougher. Right now, we’re doing everything we can to stretch our resources, but it limits how much we can innovate, compete, and learn.

How Your Donation Helps

Every contribution—big or small—makes a direct impact on our season. Donations will go toward:

-Competition registration fees (regional, state, signature and world events)

-Robot parts (motors, sensors, aluminum, gears, etc.)
