Longterm Recovery For Andy Knapik

Friend and respected member of the Denton community, Andy Knapik has been an integral brightspot in our lives. Andy has spent tireless hours helping form and sustain an organization called DMAC, or the Denton Music and Arts Collaborative. It’s an organization that connects Denton-area artists with health insurance. But about 4 weeks ago, a series of health emergencies struck Andy. Long story short, Andy received an LVAD, or Left Ventricle Assist Device. In essence, it’s working in tandem with the right side of Andy’s heart to keep him alive while he awaits a heart transplant!!! His struggle to get this far has been incredibly, emotionally taxing for his family and our community, but we never lost faith in his medical team to give him a fighting chance...or in YOU!!! A separate Go Fund Me was created and raised $28k...and to those who helped, THANK YOU!!! But I want to share my vision with you...as Andy becomes more conscious over the coming days, I want his heart to feel joy. I want him to know just how much we’re here for him. He’s got yet another big mountain to climb...let’s do it with him!!!Thank you!!!!!!-❤️ Colonel Burns
