Elliott was born December 3, 2014 in Louisiana. He was born with a bi-lateral cleft lip and palate, which required reconstructive surgery for his lip and soft palate. He will need a hard palate once his jaw has been widened. Elliott also requires speech therapy.
In 2018, Elliott was also diagnosed with heart arrhythmia. His heart rate is monitored regularly, and when episodes arise he requires beta blockers to bring his heart rate back to normal. We also plan for him to eventually receive corrective surgery for this condition.
Elliott is usually quiet and reserved in public, and energetic and rambunctious at home. He loves gathering up eggs from the chicken yard and searching for bugs and frogs in the wild. He is aware of his conditions and is now getting to an age where he must deal with questions from his curious peers. However, he is a tough and resilient kid, and can ultimately win anyone over with his beautiful smile.
