My name is Laurence Pavone and I am a 42 year old husband to Julie and a proud dad of 3. I have been dealing with brain cancer since 2005, just 6 weeks before the birth of my first child. After 6 weeks of intense treatment of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, I resumed my life with my new little family and life was sweet.
Annual check ups proved success as there has been no recurrence for the last 13 years. A routine MRI in August 2018 gave us the thumbs up and I was cleared once again.
Then... in December 2018, just months after my scan, I was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour which had returned unexpectedly. As you could imagine, my family's world was turned upside down in an instant.
My new mission...to find a cure. If not for me, then hopefully for someone else who ever hears this news. Together we can spread love, support one another and deliver valuable awareness about this disease. The fact is, brain cancer kills more children than any other disease and takes more lives under 40 than any other cancer, and yet so many people are not aware of this.
These are alarming statistics that one day we hope to see changed. My goal is to raise much needed funds to support brain cancer research. 100% of the money raised will be donated to a cancer research institution so they can rid the pain and suffering of those touched by it.
