Hello, my name is Xandria and I’m the mother of 2-year-old Josiah. We are currently at Charleston Children's Burn Center and it’s undetermined when our departure will be. My son is autistic and nonverbal.

On August 9 at 6 PM, a bottle of crystal lye drain cleaner spilled onto my son‘s neck and ears. We just moved into the house in August 1st and was unaware of the chemical in the cabinet. He is currently being treated for major burns to the back of his ears and neck and it is not determined if he will have to get one of them removed or have to have a skin draft.

I’m asking for help because I have three other kids at home and I’ve lost my job due to not being able to go to work.  My family is doing all that they can do but this has become a bit much as I have to travel every Thursday to Charleston, which is four hours away from my home, for his follow-up visits. He is unable to attend his daycare until the burns are heals and I have no one to care for him until then because his treatment has to be 4x a day.But, my baby is so strong and still full of energy.
