Help Mary Morgan Fight Mental Illness
Donation protected
Mary Morgan Olsen is our loving daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She is one of the most caring and courageous woman that we know. Her quick wit makes us laugh everyday. She has a beautiful soul.
Mary Morgan tried to end her life on Thursday, October 22, 2020 by jumping off a freeway overpass in Lynnwood, Washington. This, after seven months of intensive treatment for her mental illness...multiple involuntary and voluntary psychiatric hospitalizations, psychiatrists, psychotherapy and every anti- psychotic medication ever
developed.
She sustained a broken neck, back, pelvis and ankle. Her 7 1/2 hour surgery 10/23/20 was successful and she has no paralysis. The ICU/Trauma Medical Care Team at Harborview has been exceptional. The surgeons, nurses and Chaplains were in communication with our family every 2 hours. As you can imagine, her recovery will be very lengthy and due to Covid, Morgan hasn't worked since, April, 2020. Her medical and insurance benefits are exhausted.
Why is mental illness so difficult to discuss? Why didn’t we recognize the signs? Why are we blaming ourselves? Could we have done anything more to prevent the torture and anguish in her head?
We are starting a Go-Fund-Me page to help her with medical bills and recovery costs. It is hard for her family to ask for help. We are all going through difficult times right now and we are asking for your help. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share the Go-Fund-Me Link. We live in such a wonderful community of family and friends, we appreciate your love and support. Anni, Jeff, Hilary, Melanie and Cameron.
Please share the link below. We will be posting it to Instagram and Facebook.
Thank you all for your support and prayers. We appreciate every one of you.
We have included Suicide Prevention Lifeline links below for anyone struggling with mental illness.
