My name is Lyndsey and I have created this GoFundMe for a previous client, friend, and community member who is preparing to leave an abusive relationship. She is a survivor of domestic violence. Because of the intensity of her situation, she has asked that her name remain anonymous in order to respect her safety and the safety of her family.

This person is someone who is deeply hardworking, compassionate, and is an active member of her community. I have personally watched her grow, heal, and transform over the past two years and could not be more proud that she is taking this step.

Within her marriage, she has experienced years of verbal, sexual, and financial abuse. She has been the victim of her husband's physical aggression which has resulted in the involvement of law enforcement on multiple occasions.

She has earned and saved a small amount of money on her own, although this has been difficult as her husband has control of their household finances. She is looking to raise at least $7,500 to cover the costs of temporary housing, travel, food, and basic necessities.

1 in 3 women experiences domestic violence during her lifetime. Each day, 4 women die as a result of abuse. A woman is beaten every 15 seconds in the United States. 35% of all emergency room calls are a result of domestic violence (the leading cause of injury to women in the United States).
