Help us get through it!

Hi there. You may or may not know that Clara has been in and out of recovery for many years. I have educated myself on addiction since we got together 12 years ago. Addiction is a disease and sometimes it can have a tight grip on a person.

After 2 years of being clean, Clara relapsed in December. One can only imagine the toll this takes on the family. Things snowballed from there with the passing of her father.

A few days ago, while I was away on a work trip, Lexi found Clara unresponsive. This was the last straw. Clara is currently in the hospital and moving on to a higher level of substance abuse treatment.

We have been suffering financially for quite some time. I am the sole income earner in the house and pay all the bills myself. We live paycheck-to-paycheck. Lexi is a dancer and I promised her this would be the year I did all the dance events with her. We have a Miami Heat game and a cruise coming up. While these things make me happy, they also stress me out because we just don’t have the extra funds to spend.

I have a lot of debt and need to dig myself out. I know Lexi and I will persevere as we are strong women. We will now begin to navigate a life without Clara in it.
