William's Eagle Project
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Will, I’m 16 years old and a junior in high school. I have been a scout since 1st grade and I am a member of Troop 800 in Kissimmee, Florida. I am currently a Life Scout and I am working on my Eagle Project.

The Eagle Project will be at a local nature preserve in Poinciana, Florida. My plan for this project is to create new boardwalks to increase usability and accessibility of the trail system. I want to improve these walkways so that they are in better shape and follow ADA compliance. I also want to add an information kiosk to educate visitors on the wildlife found in the area. The current walkways were just meant to be temporary and allow people to walk over flooded areas.
The 3 walkways I plan on building will measure out as 50 ft, 35 ft, and 10 ft. The kiosk will allow visitors and children to identify different plants and animals found on the preserve.

Due to current circumstances with COVID-19, traditional fundraising has been a challenge, but I have taught some merit badge classes online and garnered some donations from it, although not enough. The estimated cost of the project is now $3900 due to the rising cost of lumber, but if there are any extra funds, they will be donated to the nature preserve. Your help in donating to the project for the materials needed would be greatly appreciated. I hope to start the project around March or April 2021 during the dry season so we will be able to effectively and safely start work on the project.
Thank you for your support,
Will Martinez
