Rob's road to recovery

On Friday May 18, Rob went into emerge with constipation pains, he was checked over and sent home.
Sat May 19th after not being able to sleep because of pain, he went to the Owen Sound emerge where he had an X-ray & CT scan. Then straight to colonoscopy.
After the colonoscopy he was told that he had cancer tumors in his desending colon.
The Dr. suggested they start in the morning and immediately Rob was put to sleep.  He woke up Sunday morning being prepared for surgery.

Surgery lasted 6 and half hours. The tumor was the size of a large cantaloupe. It had wrapped its way around his colon and up into his rib cage.
They took biopsies from his colon, liver, kidneys and every where they could reach. Rob has an incision that goes from bottom of his rib Cage to the top of his pants line.

Rob found out later that of the 24 lymph nodes. Only two came back as cancerous. Which means stage 3 cancer. Great news.

Rob was scheduled to be in the hospital for 7-10 days but was out the next Saturday.

Unfortunately when they removed his staples his incision opened right up around his belly button. The size of a golf ball. Which set his recovery back 3-4 weeks and was unable to start chemo until the incision was healed.

Rob is doing 12 cycles of chemo. Each cycle last two weeks. They suggested that it will be 6 month.

Rob is starting cycle 8 on Oct 16th.

Things that have helped Rob get through this process has been the huge support from his friends, family and co-workers.
The MVP is his sister. She was diagnosed with melanoma cancer last year and has did a lot of research and home work.
She started Rob on a very good diet and physio to help recover.

Dr. Ehab out of Collingwood who was an oncologist for 20 years and his amazing staff of professionals, have Rob on a vitamin and supplement plan. The big helper is the vitamin infusion he does every other week, it brings him back to life, more energy, sleep better, feel better, definately makes a huge difference.

This fund me is to help Rob get through  day to day stresses so he can focus on getting better.  Rob has the biggest heart and is always there for anyone in need.  Any support you can provide is truly appreciated.  Thank you!
