PLEASE HELP PAM AND DAVE DURING THESE HARD TIMES!
If you know Pam, then count yourself lucky! This lady is lovable, kind, ornery, and a blessing to so many! She holds too many titles to count - but some of the most cherished come from the next generations, including all the way to Great-grandmother!
In late 2020, Pam was having trouble breathing, which led her to the ER, where doctors found one of her lungs was filling with fluid. However after draining it, it continued to fill back up. So Pam went through a multitude of scans, tests, pokes, doctors visits, etc. to see what was going on. In mid-January 2021 she received the unfortunate news that it was cancer. Not only the dreaded C-word, but the hits kept coming, it's Mesothelioma. A form of lung cancer that doesn't have a cure. Pam and Dave (husband) were devastated. Not the news they were hoping for.
Pam and Dave have kept great spirits throughout everything, and a treatment plan of Chemo was decided and started quickly. After seeing how intense Chemotherapy was going to be, Pam took a medical leave of absence from work to concentrate on herself. She'll be going every 3 weeks to Chemo, on top of other specialists, tests, scans, etc. Dave is self-employed, which makes scheduling easier for everyone, however, with all of the appointments, hasn't left much time for working. This is where I come in to ask for your financial help. Dave has now become chauffeur, cook, housekeeper, appt keeper, among many other titles. I know he does everything imaginable to help Pam, emotionally, mentally and physically, but I want to help take a load off both of them!
All money raised will go to Dave and Pam Rud, for medical bills that are starting to really pile up and other expenses. They're in the beginning stages of this incurable disease, and could use a helping hand. If you know them, you know they don't like "handouts," but this time they NEED IT! Pam's been fighting a battle for a while now, and these funds can go a long way to helping them.
(A little information on Dave and Pam. They were the cliche couple that met in a bar while listening to a live band. Between the two, they worked for the Boys and Girls Club for 15+ years. They even held their wedding at the B&GC in 2006, where the kids performed the ceremony, walked Pam down the aisle, played the music, and used disposable cameras for photography! That event, held that way, means everything to Pam and Dave! Their selflessness doesn't end there - they went on to become foster parents 7 times over as well. Since leaving the B&GC, Pam has also volunteered for Partners Mentoring Youth and the local Women's Crisis Center. They both have huge hearts and are deserving of everything raised.)
I'm Dave's youngest daughter, Pam's step-daughter. But my favorite title for them is grandparents to my children. I'm asking for your help, for them. Thank you everyone!
