"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Theresa, my mother, is one of the most caring, kind, gentle souls I know. She has a heart of gold and a faith in God that can not be shaken. Currently, her faith is being tested but she is remaining fearless, courageous and faithful through this dark storm.

On Friday August 17 Theresa was admitted to the emergency room at Sierra Vista in San Luis Obispo. After an MRI, it was determined she had a brain tumor that needed to be removed promptly.

That Sunday she was transferred to UCSF to help reduce swelling and prepare for surgery. Theresa went through a plethora of tests over the next few days, which were very tiring yet she remained positive, hopeful and trusted in God.

On Wednesday August 22 her neurosurgeon and his team at UCSF preformed a craniotomy to remove the tumor that was the size of a large golf ball located in the left lobe of the brain. The tumor was removed and my mom was a total Rockstar through surgery.

She diagnosed with a Glioblastoma. She is doing a little better each day but she certainly has a long road ahead of her. She started speech and physical therapy, will start chemotherapy and radiation soon and has monthly appointments at UCSF to check in with her neuro team.

We couldn't have made it this far without the love and support from our family, our friends and God. Please keep Theresa and our family in your thoughts and prayers and we navigate this journey together and stay fearless together.

Donations raised will go directly to William Oxford, her devoted and loving husband of 35 years, for long term care of Theresa, medical bills, travel expenses and therapy.

Kindly,
Ashleigh and Sarah
(Theresa’s daughters)

We will post updates from time to time, thank you so much for your support!

UPDATES:

A scan this week determined that Theresa has a hematoma in the tumor cavity and will be traveling to UCSF on Monday Sept 24 to see her neurosurgeon.  Keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

Theresa visited her doctor at UCSF on Monday and he said she does NOT have a hematoma! Chemo and radiation will begin this week.
