For over 20 years, LIFE Camp, Inc. has stood on the frontlines of peace, helping young people stay alive, out the criminal justice system, find hope and proving that Peace Is A LIFEstyle.

Our team of credible messengers & clinicians/healers, and mentors have helped make Southeast Queens one of the safest communities in New York City. But now, the work that saves lives is at risk.

Here’s why:

• The Trump Administration cut $2 million from our funding.

• They also removed key grants that support community violence intervention & prevention.

• And new rules now say we must work with ICE and disclose immigration status to receive funding.

That goes against everything we stand for. We refuse to put our people, or our principles, at risk.

Because of these cuts, we’ve had to lay off staff who were out there every day mediating conflicts, helping youth re-enter the workforce, and creating safe spaces in schools. These are the people who prevent shootings, heal trauma, and guide young people toward peace.

It’s about how we turned violence into vision. How we turned a war zone into a sanctuary. It’s about the fight for peace, one we’re still in. One we must win.
