60 for Sixty, a Birthday wish

I am turning 60 years old in a few weeks on December 29th. At an age where most people are looking at retirement, I am looking at keeping my work going and hopefully shifting into the next gear. As a single, self employed artist, it is never easy, but I persist because art is not a choice for me.

2024 presented me with challenges and obstacles which I've done my best to meet and conquer. I was able to have a hernia procedure thanks to GoFundMe, which has been my defacto health-care plan, for which I am grateful. My work was impeded and slowed in the summer due to a painful torn hamstring, but there is no procedure for that, just a long healing process. I had to refund a couple of large advances on commissions, just when I was beginning to get on top of things financially, which has been a near devastating blow.

So to close the gap, I am going to ask for birthday/Christmas gifts in the form of donations here. Does 60 bucks for sixty years sound good? I think 100 of my friends would do that. It will help me end the year in the black and I can focus on the exciting projects ahead in 2025!
