6 year old Michael

Where to begin? On August 8th Michael woke up and began doing what most children his age do.... be a kid! Michael began coughing and had trouble breathing, he was en route to Children's Hospital when a detour was taken for immediate medical needs. Michael has suffered a cardiac arrest in the ambulance. After a few minutes the paramedics began CPR to save this little boys life. Upon arriving at Hospital he went into cardiac arrest again. This little boy is SIX! After a 10 day stay in the ICU Michael was released with more appointments that month than most have in a year.

Michael began enjoying himself as a child again , riding his skateboard, eating his spaghetti and meatballs he so loves. But most important his smile and love for others is what makes this so tough.

Six days post release Michael woke up again gasping for air, he was life flighted to Massachuestts General Hosptial immediately. Michael had suffered for immediate delirium and after 3 days it was discovered Michael's airway had been severely damaged from our heros saving his life.

He underwent immediate surgery to have stint put in, using skin from his leg to create a new airway. This healthy little boy also had a 10 day coma in which he received a traceotomy.

Michael remains at MGH as he has been equipped with a tool to allow him to speak. However he is unable to walk or drink liquids due to his injuries.

Michael comes from a single parent home in which his father Nick deeply cares for his children and has dedicated each second to ensuring that Giulian (9) , Gracie (8), Michael (6), and Wyatt (5) all have a life that ever child deserves.

Unfortunately the travel to and from Boston and the severity of Michael's medical needs, insurance gets cheap. Anyone who has ever met or been around these children know how loving and caring they are too each other, and this tragedy has created lifelong challenges that NO little boy or family should ever go through.

Times are tough and Covid really left its mark, but if anything can be spared please donate. As much as I know Nick is doing everything he can to make sure everything is taken care of, it's not enough. He is the last person to ask for anything due to pride, however he isn't asking, I am asking for Michael. Donations will be used to purchase these items that insurance will not cover.
- Childrens recliner/ automated bed for Michael to be safe while sleeping as he will have constant air mist placed in his throat during sleep to prevent damage.
-Upgraded/2nd Oxygen Saturation machine which provides Michael with a realistic way to not allow his upper body to not get moisture into his body.
-Stair safety rails
-Speaking valves (insurance covers bare minimum monthly) and doesn't account for accidents. This boy needs a voice
-Although family is working on getting Michael a laptop to receive his education down the line, as well as a gaming system called Nintendo Switch I believe this boy deserves some joy after this.

Thank you so much for your time, ans like Michael.says "I'm going to be alright".
