7 week old Baby Brody fighting for his life

Family and friends. I am asking for your help. Back on May 14-15 my 5 week old grandson Brody had been sent home from 2 different hospitals saying he had Rhino virus and he just needed time to get better. By May 16th at 7 am he was rushed into the NICU in Rapid City. They were not really sure what was going on. They put him on oxygen,then to a full face mask and within a few hours he was ventilated. His left lung collapsed 3 times and then his right lung. He has been diagnosed with tracheitis. Long and short answer is that his lungs were not fully developed. He has been heavily sedated and on pain meds around the clock. His platelets are elevated and he’s fighting so hard. Today they thought he turned the corner and they pulled his breathing tube. Unfortunately that was the wrong thing and didn’t go as planned. Now we need your prayers more then ever. They have had to reintubate him this afternoon and things are not looking good. His muscles are week. His heart rate is also elevated and tonight he has spiked a fever. His Neonatal Blood Gas is extremely high contributing to lung failure, O2 is very low and among other things we don’t know what’s next. They are Life Flighting him from Rapid City to Denver Childrens hospital as he needs immediate advanced care. Aspen will be flying with him and Tyler and the rest of the family will drive it.

Aspen and Tyler have both been out of work for the past 2 weeks with no end in sight. They have 2 other boys at home as well who really don’t understand what’s going on. They do have an amazing nanny who has stepped up to help as much as possible but she can’t join them in Denver. She unfortunately has little to no family back home who has been financially able or willing to help.

If anyone has the means to help cover some of the cost of every day life, hotels and Upcoming bills and rent. Even a little means a lot to them at this time.

Allie is bringing Rowan back to Florida to stay with my Husband and I to help relieve some of their stress.

Brodys medical bills will be a lot. Aspen and Tyler will not be able to return to work for the unseen future and unfortunately Aspen had been out of work for the prior 2 months for Brody’s delivery.
