6 Jahre Arbeit verloren - Rettungsversuch Festplatte

Hallo,

ich bin Nina, studiere an der Kunstuniversität Linz in zwei Masterstudiengängen und stehe kurz vor dem Abschluss.

Ich hatte vor ein paar Tagen das wahnsinnige Pech, meine Festplatte beschädigt zu haben, auf der sich ein Großteil meiner Arbeit der letzten 6 Jahre, die ich während meines Studiums entwickelt habe, befand. Mich schmerzt am meisten, dass sich die Entwicklung und Dokumentation für meine beiden Masterarbeiten verloren scheinen.

Nun habe ich den Datenträger zu einer Datenrettungsfirma gebracht und eventuell die Chance, zumindest noch einen Teil meiner wertvollen Daten zu rekonstruieren. Das kostet jedoch einiges an Geld, welches ich zurzeit als Studierende nur sehr schwer aufbringen kann.

Nach einer ersten Analyse der Firma hat sich gezeigt, dass es sich um einen schwerwiegenden Fall handelt und die (Teil-)Datenrettung sehr aufwändig ist. Insgesamt wird mich dieser Rettungsversuch um die 2600 € kosten. Da mir die Arbeit aber so sehr am Herzen liegt und meine ganze Energie der letzten Jahre eingeflossen ist, möchte ich nichts unversucht lassen.

In meiner künstlerischen Arbeit geht es um Verlust, persönliche Erfahrungen von Extremsituationen und wie man einen Umgang damit finden kann, das eigene Leben, trotz aller Hindernisse, zu meistern.

Fast ironisch fühlt es sich für mich nun an, dass ich während meiner Arbeit, die darum handelt, alles zu verlieren, nochmal alles verloren haben soll.

Zum ersten Mal bitte ich um finanzielle Unterstützung für mich selbst, da es mir in diesem Prozess so wichtig ist, alles zu versuchen, nicht aufzugeben und Dinge möglich zu machen, die schon verloren gewirkt haben.

Dies ist nicht nur Konzept und Grundstein meiner Arbeit, sondern scheint nun eine zusätzliche Challenge und Aufgabe für mich zu sein, dieses nochmal zu meistern.

I'm Nina, I'm studying in two master's programs at the University of Art and Design Linz and I'm about to graduate soon.

A few days ago I had the incredible misfortune of damaging my hard disk, which contained a large part of my work from the last 6 years that I have developed during my studies. What hurts me the most is that the development and documentation for my two master's theses seem to have been lost.

I have now taken the data carrier to a data recovery company and may have the chance to reconstruct at least some of my valuable data. However, this costs a lot of money, which I currently find very difficult to raise as a student.

After an initial analysis by the company, it has become clear that this is a serious case and that (partial) data recovery is very costly. In total, this rescue attempt will cost me around €2600. But as the work is so close to my heart and all my energy has gone into it over the last few years, I don't want to leave any stone unturned.

My artistic work is about loss, personal experiences of extreme situations and how to find a way of dealing with those, of mastering one's own life despite all the obstacles.

It feels almost ironic to me now that during my work, which is about losing everything, I should have lost everything again.

For the first time I am asking for financial support for myself, as it is so important to me within this process to try everything I can, not to give up and to make things possible even though they have already seemed lost.

This is not only the concept and core of my work, but now seems to be an additional challenge and task for me to master once again.
