***UPDATE***
Since this incident on July 3, 2024 Nate has faught hard for his life and for his recovery. Nate originally spent 3 weeks in an ICU before being transferred back home to WI to begin therapy and rehab. Nate spent 3 weeks at an inpatient rehab and made ecelent progress and was discharged to go home and continue rehab there. 1 day after being home Nate had a check up appt and it was discovered that his wound had become infected which resulted in another surgery to remove infection. There were still parts of bullet fragments and skull fragments trying to push out of his brain along with settled in the side of head as well causing all of this infection and additional swelling. This surgery then set all nates progress back about 3 weeks. Nate spent another week in the hospital and finally got discharged again and has now been home for 2 weeks recovering and healing. He will be starting therapy again soon ans continue to push!!!
On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Nate fell victim to a road rage incident and suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head while driving down the road doing what he loves, trucking!
Nate was immediately rushed to the hospital and underwent critical and extensive surgery. Nate is currently doing everything the doctors have asked and despite all odds against him, Nate is doing very well! Thank you to the amazing doctors on his side and the first responders who kept Nate with us!
Nate is one of the toughest and best at what he does and takes pride in everything he does to the highest level! He sets the bar high and his expectations are no less for others!
Nate is also one of the most devoted guys I know. He loves his wife more than anything in the world! Nate is one of the best friends a person could ask for as well. He is truly the kind of person to take the shirt off their back or drop anything to help anyone!
In Nate's free time, he is an adrenaline junky and lives his life full throttle at everything he does! He enjoys snowmobiling, boating, and racing!
There is a long road ahead and there will be lots of emotional and financial stress for Nate and his family due to this horrific event. Any funds raised will be extremely helpful and appreciated!
Please keep Nate, his wife Courtney, and the rest of his family in your thoughts and prayers!
