Hello, my name is Nishanth, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help in saving our beloved 3-year-old Black Labrador, Luna.
WHY I'M FUNDRAISING
On 19th December 2025, our lives turned upside down when Luna was diagnosed with Tetanus— a very rare and life-threatening condition in dogs. What started as concerning symptoms quickly escalated into a critical medical emergency. She's currently under intensive specialist care, fighting for her life, and the medical costs are mounting rapidly.
Luna isn't just a pet—she's family. She's been our family's constant companion and has brought endless joy to our home. Watching her suffer through the severe symptoms of tetanus—the muscle spasms, rigidity, and inability to eat or drink—has been absolutely heartbreaking.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Tetanus in dogs is extremely serious and requires immediate, intensive veterinary intervention. Without proper treatment, the survival rate is tragically low. But with specialist care, we have hope. Every day matters, and the veterinary team is doing everything possible to save her life.
As parents we are doing our best to manage the situation both financially and emotionally. These unexpected emergency medical costs have overwhelmed our budget. Her medical treatment so far as on Wednesday 31st Dec 2025 is £8100 (at her current care - @Granta Veterinary Hospital, Linton) + on Friday 19th Dec 2025 £1246 (for initial diagnosis @Pets4Vetsm, Saffron Walden). I do not want to give up on Luna. She deserves every chance to recover and come home to us.
HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
The funds raised will go directly toward:
• Specialist veterinary consultation and ongoing monitoring (£800-£1,200)
• Hospitalization and intensive care unit costs (£300-£500 per day)
• Tetanus antitoxin and immunoglobulin treatment (£400-£800)
• Medications including muscle relaxants, antibiotics, and pain management (£300-£600)
• Nutritional support and tube feeding equipment (£200-£400)
• Follow-up appointments and rehabilitation care (£400-£800)
• Emergency procedures if complications arise (£500-£1,000)
Insurance will hopefully cover £3,000 (awaiting approval), we are putting in another £3,000 from our savings and need another £2.100 to support her complete treatment/recovery as on 31st December 2025 invoice.
Every pound raised will go directly to Luna's medical care. If we're fortunate enough to raise more than needed, any excess funds will be donated to a dog charity to help other families facing similar emergencies.
OUR HOPE
With the right treatment and your support, Luna has a fighting chance. She's young, she's strong, and she wants to live. The veterinary specialists have told us that with intensive care, dogs can recover from tetanus—but time is critical, and so is the treatment.
We're asking for your help—whether it's a donation of any size, or simply sharing this campaign with your network. Every share brings us closer to giving Luna the treatment she desperately needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.
With deepest gratitude,
Nishanth and Family
Saffron Walden, Essex
