Prayers and Support for Alex

Dear Family and Friends,

Many of you may know the challenges and pain associated with having cancer. I now have a son who is experiencing this pain. My name is Susan Salvaggio and this story is about my son, Alex Salvaggio, and the pain and challenges he is now going through.

Alex was recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in his esophagus. He had been having issues with inflammation in his face, loss of appetite, and coughing up blood. That is when he went to see a doctor. He was hospitalized and tested. The tests revealed a mass in his esophagus which turned out to be cancer. He was told to make an appointment with an oncologist for further testing and then begin a lengthy time of chemo

treatments and afterwards radiation treatments as well. Unfortunately, his insurance is very limited and will not cover all the treatments he will need. That is why I am asking for help for my son.

Alex works two jobs to support his wife, his children, and his mother-in-law. His wife, Marye, works part time as a teacher’s aide at their children’s school which helps with their children’s school expenses. She also helps care for her mother. Despite all that Alex is going through, he has had to return to work so that he can keep his job and continue supporting his family. As busy as Alex is, he still finds time to come to my apartment

and help me around my home. Alex is a good son, husband, and father. His greatest joy is when he and Marye have playtime with their precious son and daughter.

Because Alex’s insurance is very limited, I have started this Go Fund Me account to help Alex and Marye with the tremendous costs of his chemo and radiation treatments, hospital care, and daily living needs for them and their children.
