My name is Josh and this is my beautiful wife Stacey. Stacey is absolutely the love of my life and the mother of our two amazing children, Austin 13 and Dakota 11. April 22, 2011 while home alone with the kids, Stacey had a seizure. After running many tests in the emergency room, we were informed there was a large tumor called an Oligoastrocytoma in her brain. Further doctor visits revealed the tumor was inoperable due to its location and our only option was to shrink it with radiation and chemotherapy. Less than a year later, in March of 2012, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. My surgery was effective and it was removed. Stacey’s tumor began to shrink and though these experiences were traumatic, we continued to move toward resuming normal, happy lives for each other and for our children, hoping that cancer would not return to either of us. In August 2016 during a routine scan on Stacey we found that the tumor started to grow again. August 24, 2016, Doctors were successful in removing the Grade 3 malignant oligoastrocytoma brain tumor. After the last surgery Stacey suffered motor function loss and has been in physical therapy trying to get stronger. She has been unable to work or drive and we have leaned heavily on our family to help with her care, as well as Austin and Dakota’s. Increasing medical expenses and the need to take personal (unpaid) time away from work when needed for physical therapy, radiation and chemotherapy treatments lead us to start a gofundme.August 2018, during another routine scan it was discovered that Stacey’s brain tumor is back for the THIRD time. Unfortunately, surgery is not an option due to the location of the tumor. Stacey was given 6 months to a year with the potential option of aggressive chemotherapy. We are all having a hard time processing this, especially the kids. Right now we are asking for donations to go on one last vacation with the kids and I. Stacey’s one wish was to go to Hawaii with the kids. We were trying to wait until they were a bit older but it’s now or never. On our previous gofundme we were very fortunate to receive $7,700 and were able to use that money to cover a good portion of the medical expenses. After providing the family with a vacation, anything left over will go to Stacey’s medical care during her remaining time. We thank each and every one of you for everything you have done and continue to do for our family.
