Hi, my name is Abby and I am starting this fundraiser for my nephew Micah. Micah has a heart condition called restrictive cardiomyopathy and was diagnosed with it when he was 5 years old. Restrictive cardiomyopathy is when the ventricles become rigid and are unable to fill with blood completely. This can lead to heart failure, which increases pressure on the heart and fluid build up in the lungs.

Micah has been going in every 6 months to get multiple tests to monitor his condition. With his last check up it was noted that his heart had gotten a little bigger. They did a heart catheterization to test the pressures in his heart and found that they were higher then what they were hoping. The higher pressures mean his heart is worse then what they were expecting.

With this new information is was decided to start the preparations to get Micah on the transplant list. This requires multiple tests and appointments before getting put on the list.

Micah has been getting out of breath easily doing things that should be easy for a 10 year old. Everyone is excited for his new heart as he will be able to run and play like a normal kid. With the new heart he will start growing like he should since he hasn't been growing the last couple of years.

The money raised will go to Micah's parents (Eric & Heather) to help them cover his medical bills.
