2021:
Update 18/03/2021
Unfortunately this sweet boy is not doing so well again :(
He has had a terribly high temperature today (41.5 degrees) and has barely eaten. I took him to the vet for fluids, antibiotics and a blood test. Hopefully we will be the results in soon and know what's wrong, but it really does break my heart, seeing Maks not well again :'(
I almost lost him last year.
So once again, I don't have a lot of choice but to ask anyone for any amount of help. I haven't had much work at all lately, and thankfully my vet has allowed me to pay half of the $286 bill this week, and the rest of it I will have to pay next week. Thank you to everyone who can help, it really means a lot, and does a lot fo this little guy's life.
(Maks at the vet today, waiting to get his blood test done)
2020:

My adopted rescue baby Maks has been suffering from an unknown illness (or illnesses) since July this year. I really want to try and give him the best, most comfortable life, which he deserves. He is only 9 months old and has already been through too much. 2.5 months ago, he was in hospital for a week, and unfortunately the vet and pathologist weren't able to pin point exactly what is wrong with him. He had some symptoms of FIP, a horrible cat disease, that almost always is fatal. That week cost me $1000 - and since then Maks has been at the vet almost every week for consecutive blood tests to monitor his health. These blood tests cost $120 - $150 each time.
For a while it seemed like Maks was doing better, but he has had a number of recurring secondary infections. Since his hospital stay, he has been on daily medication of immunosuppressants, to try and regulate his overactive immune system, that was killing him. The price of medication has also been adding up, from $20-$50 each time I have to go back to the vet and get more.
And with all the expenses, and COVID19, it's unfortunately it's really becoming difficult for me to afford everything for him, as well as everything else needed to keep Maks, his older sister, Elia, and his younger brother, Roma, happy and healthy. With Maks's extensive medical history, I doubt that his expenses are going to stop any time soon, so any small amount of help is so so appreciated.
Maks is a gentle, sweet boy, who loves being brushed and getting belly rubs more than anything. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, and he truly deserves to live as pain free as possible. He has done nothing to deserve this, but this is his life, being born on the street to a stray cat.
Thank you to everyone who wants to help Maks! from me Maks, Roma and Elia.
Maks loves his naked and furry siblings. He's such a caring boy, he's always ready to snuggle up with Roma and keep him warm.

Maks on the first night that I brought him home, when he was a tiny, scared baby, approximately 8 weeks old.
