A Bright New Start

On Friday, July 19th, my best friend was at her home with her son. A man broke into her home. He walked in to her son's room, grabbed him by the throat and asked him if he was ready to die. With her son by the throat, he walked into her room and asked her if she was prepared to die today. He began to assault her and her son by striking them in the head and face. He hit her so many times in the head and face that he broke her nose and caused many bruises. While she and her son were fighting to get away, she was able to fight the man off enough for her son to get out and get a neighbor to call 911. Her son is 14. After getting a neighbor to call 911, her son entered the home again and tried to fight the man to keep him off and away from his mom. Her son grabbed a box cutter and attempted to stab the man. The man took the box cutter away from her son.  He then told them both they were going to die today. He made them lay on the floor and look away from each other. When her son would not do as the man told him, he stabbed her in the back. He then used the box cutter and slit her throat. Police showed up very shortly after. The man walked out of the bedroom with blood all over him when the police got there. The police arrested the man. The ambulance was there in minutes and transported her and her son to Regions for medical attention. My best friend received many stitches to her throat, treatment to her eye and other injuries due to this vicious attack. The man is in custody and has many charges that will face.
My dearest friend will be out of work for quite sometime. She is facing a very long road of recovery, just as her son and her family are. The bruises and cuts will heal but it will remain with them forever. I would like raise money for her and her two children while they heal. 
Any donations that will be collected will go straight to her for the time off work, medical bills, therapy for her and her son and any other needs they may have during this time. Prayers and thoughts are definitely needed at this time.
