In Memory of Mrs. Howard

My Name is Bella. Today is December 29, 2013. My Kindergarten teacher was in a car accident on Friday night and her body stopped working. She had to go to heaven. My family shared this with me today and explained that when I go back to school next week, it might feel even harder to understand my feelings. Like myself, many of my classmates are devastated, confused and have never experienced the death of someone close to us.

Mommy and I are firm believers in reading. There's a book that may help all of us "When Dinosaurs Die: A Guide to Understanding Death" by Laurie Kransy Brown. The book explains, in simple language, the feelings children may have regarding the death of a loved one and the ways to honor the memory of someone who has died.

With your help, I intend to put a copy of this book in the hand of every teacher and student at my school... to provide a tool for teachers, children and their families. Mommy taught me that when I don't know what to say, I can always pull out a book. Sometimes she doesn't even know what to say...but she can always pull out a book and read with me. Many times, it helps me to find my words. This tragedy reaches far and wide. Hearts are broken.

Please choose to assist me in purchasing copies for my school by Thursday, Jan 2, so that I may prepare them for the classrooms on Monday, Jan 6th (our first day back to school). Each copy is less than $9 (including tax, shipping and the 5% gofundme admin fee). I can do this with your help. Please join me in making a difference for all the children of Steiner Ranch Elementary during this truly upsetting time. This is how I choose to honor Mrs. Howard, her family and her memory...please come with me.

You should really know this part:
Your tiny donation WILL make a very BIG difference. God bless you. Oh and if you are unable to help with a small donation, please just share and send a prayer...your help (in any and every way) is so very much appreciated. Any left over funds will be presented to the Principal at SRE to be used at her discretion towards a memorial for Mrs. Howard.

We are praying, at home, for Mrs. Howard's family, her friends, co-workers, students at SRE and Vandergrift High and everyone else she touched in her 17+ years of teaching.

All my goodness,
Bella Grace
